Update on Planning:

The person I planned on having as my protagonist has cancelled so I have plan to get a new person as my protagonist. From the cancellation it has aloud me more time to think and plan how to film the scenes, it gave me more time which is in short demand.

On December 14th/15th I will film the major narrative which will then allow me to film the rest of the film at college knowing what scene goes where and how the narrative will piece together. After i have filmed I will start the editing process as soon as possible in order to meet the deadline. The amount of filming I will do will mean that I will be finished by December and I will have enough time to do reshoots. I have drawn out each scene and I have filmed a few scenes already which are on my laptop. I am trying to make my film simple and rely on editing to make it look more techinically advanced. The plot is also simple but It will be easy for me film and capture.

My film is going to be full of versimilitude to create an interesting mise-en-scene. Luckily for me the weather at the moment will add a sense of pathetic fallacy. The rainy, cold weather conveys the emotions of the girl. The long takes and no dialogue in the film are all references from Elephant and the topic of the film is influenced from Curfew. The hand held camera and tracking shots is influenced from

I have also been influenced by music videos such as fucking perfect by p!nk, the music video has similar topics to what my film will feature. Music inspires me and I have made a playlist of songs which inspired me to come up with the idea for my scenes and the narrative. I won't fall into a trap of making a music video but I will be influenced and inspired by the songs.

Songs:

  • Invisible by 5 Seconds of Summer
  • Fucking Perfect by P!nk
  • Kill Yourself by Andrew W.K
  • Miss Emeli by General Vibe

The mixture of music influence and film influence have helped me get to my current idea and narrative. My idea has changed from the beginning as I wanted to keep my narrative simple and easy for me to film, however, I do need to remember that I am only a student and not filming with a huge budget, which I seem to forget.

14th of December I have filmed:
it went really well I have a clear story line that's being shown and after dong my rough cut I have got a decent amount of footage which will mean that when I do my other scene I will enough run time. So far after rough editing I have 3 minutes and 20 seconds. I have more scenes to film but they are short montage like scenes. So I am certain I will fill the 4 minute to 5 minute mark. After filming these scenes I have found it to be easy to convey the emotions. My use of mise-en-scene and the added verisimilitude I feel add to my meaning and intentions. So far I have received positive feedback which is very inspiring.
